Established in 1983 to address the emerging market for high density commercial memory modules the company quickly established a reputation for delivery of innovative, high quality memory solutions. Through the early 1980's the company grew rapidly developing a extensive commercial product portfolio.
In 1986 the company entered the high reliability memory market investing heavily in equipment and key personnel. The first product releases were full ceramic modules. These products were quickly followed by an extensive range of ceramic monolithic product.
As the real innovators in the market HMP were first to introduce the PUMA2 ceramic PGA product in 1986 and its surface mount equivalent the PUMA67 in 1991. These products, and their derivatives, went on to become industry standard products produced by a number of manufacturers. During this period the company continued to attack the commercial market introducing a extensive range of memory solutions.
The company continued to grow rapidly, re-investing in the business. In 1988 Mosaic was established in San Diego USA to address the USA marketplace with its own manufacturing capability.
During the late 1990's the company sought to increase its product range from purely memory products to a more broad base of semiconductor products. In March 2000 the company merged with Apta Inc of San Diego USA a manufacturer of ultra high performance advanced packaging solutions for a range of commercial and military applications.
In February 2002 HMP changed its name to Apta Group Ltd
